Mr. Aftab Ahmad Ch. has been appointed as the Secretary General of South Asian Federation of Exchanges (SAFE) during August 2005 by the SAFE Executive Committee. He is serving in this capacity on honorary basis and has spearheaded the efforts for revitalizing the SAFE forum for achieving progressive integration of the stock markets of the region. Mr. Aftab Ahmad Ch. is also the Managing Director of Islamabad Stock Exchange. He is serving on the Board of National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited and internationally known credit rating agency JCR-VIS. Prior to joining ISE, Mr. Aftab worked in the corporate finance sector in Canada as well as a Research Analyst in the United States of America.
Mr. Aftab has an MBA degree from Nicholls State University, Thibodaux/LA, USA and also qualified in Executive Management Program of Stanford University, USA. He also holds a diploma in Securities Market Development from the United States Securities & Exchange Commission USA. Mr. Aftab has attended many other leadership and career development courses.

Mr. Jawwad Ahmad joined SAFE in the capacity of Program Officer in October 2007. In his professional career he has been associated as an Investment Consultant with JS Investments Limited (formerly JS ABAMCO Limited) and the finance department of ALCATEL. After shifting from telecom to the brokerage industry Mr. Ahmad has gained extensive experience in marketing consultancy, business development and customer relations. At the Secretariat his responsibilities include Member Affairs, Website Developments, events organization and logistics for Annual training programs, Conferences and Annual General Meetings.

Mr. Usman Rashid was inducted as a Program Officer in October 2007 with the SAFE Secretariat. In his professional career he has been involved with “The World Conservatory Union,” and the HR recruiting agency “Solutionz Komprehensive.” Mr. Rashid possesses a Masters Degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in finance and HR. Mr. Rashid’s area of responsibility within the Secretariat include donor relations, SAARC Affiliations and SAFE Registrations, SAFE publications, maintaining relations with SASRF & Affiliate Affairs (Regional Exchange bodies & International Forums).
